Moon media kit

Updated in January 2026 with a new layout.

The last time humans went to the Moon was over 50 years ago, on the Apollo 17 mission in 1972. Today, ESA is teaming up with international partners to return humans to Earth's natural satellite in a more sustainable way, to one day live and work on the lunar surface.

This media kit contains information on Europe's contribution to the Artemis programme, including ESA's European Service Module and modules for the lunar Gateway station. Towards the end of the kit, you will find links to our social media channels and web pages where you can find more information. An internet connection is required to access the external webpages.
